From KLIA - Gare du Nord

Friday, 21st March 2014- right after maghrib; daddy, mummy, kak long, kak ngah, and shasha drove both of us to the departure terminal, KLIA to catch  our flight at that night. Coincidentally, we will travel along with my parents and jai because they bought the same flight to visit faris. So at 11.55 pm all of us boarded the same plane flying to Paris!! It took us around 13 hours flying from KLIA to Charles de Gaulle airport, in the meantime we slept, watched movie and being served breakfast and dinner by MAS crew. That night our flight was somehow pretty bad as the weather was not that good. But, Alhamdulillah everything went fine :) the crews especially the captain was very experienced in dealing with that such kind of weather. Despite the uncomfortable journey, we enjoyed the movies, games, foods and got some sleep so that we didnt think too much about it.
Miza enjoyed watching this movie so much :)

After a long awaited flight, we safely arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport at 6.30 am. It was a cold morning as the temperature was about 6-8 degree C. As we arrived we quickly went to the custom post and after that picked up our luggage. My parents and jai stayed in Paris for few nights as faris flew from UK to Paris to join them.

Post before buying the ticket to Gare du Nord
We before now bought eurostar tickets in the afternoon to travel to London, hence we moved from the terminal 1 airport to the terminal 3 and from there we took a train to the Gare du Nord. Just for info, Charle de Gaulle airport is one of the best airport in the Western Europe but not comparable with our KLIA or even Subang Skypark, but its ok as it just an airport :) while Gare du Nord is one of the biggest train stations in Paris and from here we will take our eurostar to the city of London. Personally i felt that Gare du Nord station was more exciting with the facilities and also its architecture compared to CDG airport.

At Gare du Nord train station

It took around half an hour from CDG to Gare du Nord, luckily we didn’t had any obstacle to understand the subway system in France as the map and info was sufficient enough. It was around 9 am when we caught the train and to make it easy there was not many passengers at that time because it was Saturday morning.

Since it was still early to wait for the eurostar’s train to London, we decided to have a walk around and explore the city where this Gare du Nord located. When we walked out from the station’s main door we realize that we should go back inside and put our jackets on because the wind was so cold and it was drizzling outside. The atmosphere was like you are walking out form KL Sentral towards the Brickfield but with more organized and well planned town. We spotted a lot of cafés around this area with very pleasant and amusing decoration but at the end we settled down at Mc D J as they provided free wifi. At that time we really need it to contact our family and of course; upload some photos and fb status.

It feels good when we get connected to wifi

The good thing about this Mc D was it served breakfast/patisseries/macaroons rather than usual burgers. We tried hot chocolate and croissant and I have to admit the croissant was the best I ever taste! As the time passed by we rushed back to the station to catch up our train and one more time we will spend few hours to arrive at London. As usual in the train we captured some photos and of course we slept to regain back our energy as we shall have hectic, frenzied and excited time when we arrive in London.

Bye and see u in London!
